Cynthia Maluleke

Cynthia Maluleke (21 years) is from Soweto township, and has 7 brothers and sisters. Her father died a couple of years ago and since then she has been trying to help her mother support the rest of the family.

Cynthia is currently finishing her matric (end of high school exam) that will enable her to go onto greater things. She is interested in media and will probably study communications when she has passed her matric.

UPDATE February 2011

Cynthia has succesfully finished her matric and has now chosen to studying marketing. She also has a part time job in the Soweto GOMACC office, where she is able to get some practical experience in marketing. We would like to congratulate her on the excellent progress she has made the past year and also how she has grown as a person. Well done Cynthia.

Cynthia writes the following:

‘Last year I was fortunate that my mother managed to get some money for me and I could attend Arts and Culture Administration Course. After the course I volunteered as an Assistance Administrator at The Computer Tutor.
I would love for you to help me pay for the course that I need to study which is media and acting. Where I see myself in 5 years from now, I see myself achieving a lot and one of them is helping needy girls and boys from our country, because there are lot of them who have a grade 12 but they do not have the money to go to University and that is sadding me.’
